A. Background

In 2018, SPSE had launched the inaugural national essay competition targeting all secondary schools around Fiji. Overall, an overwhelming response was noted for this initiative and there were six different winners announced and awarded with various prizes which was highly publicised through various media forms. Additionally, the overall winners were also invited to attend and receive their credentials on the national platform at the 2018 SPSE Annual Awards event where the Chief Guest was the Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Honourable Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

This initiative had generated a lot of curiosity and interest amongst the students as well as their parents and teachers to find out more about the stock market and identify ways through which they can become investors in listed entities.
